Fort Greene TOWNHOUSE

A Fort Greene sunroom doubled as our client’s office. Our objective was to make this sunroom a serene space for both work and play. Sunlight poured in from two exposures, creating an ideal growing environment for flowering tropical plants and desert succulents. We focused on using natural materials with unique terracotta planters, handmade macrame hangers, and sculptural pieces of driftwood that host air plants. A large window from the primary bath provides a lush, tropical view.

Downstairs, we installed a container garden upon the window’s ledge with foliage of varied textures and colors that can be admired from above and below. A giant ficus lyrata grows towards the light next to a monstera deliciosa. At the base of the stairs, a family of snake plants offers striking patterns and shapes in a lower light corner.
