CROWN heights ROOF GARDEN

This Crown Heights roof garden came with full sun and clear views of the night sky, making it a lovely outdoor living space for lounging at sunset and entertaining on weekends.

Aiming to build a lush garden for our client while also creating plenty of space for relaxation, we wrapped the roof terrace in corten steel planters filled with native perennials and flowering shrubs. The steel will turn to a rusted patina with time, bringing an earthy warmth that will highlight the red undertones of the coreopsis, Lobelia cardinalis and pink flowers of the muhlenbergia capillaris.

Oak leaf hydrangeas line one side of the rooftop, creating a leafy privacy hedge from the neighbors.
